The Bunyan Museum

Mill Street (213772)

The Bunyan Museum opened in 1998, and houses a unique collection. The exhibition tells the story of this world-renowned author, and recreates scenes from 17th Century England.

The Bunyan Church itself is well worth a visit, with some stunning stained glass windows depicting scenes from the Pilgrims Progress.

If you go to the Tourist Information Centre in Church Street, you can ask for a leaflet, and join a walking tour showing the landmarks associated with his life. And not far away, of course, is Elstow; the leaflet has this information as well.

A Teachers' Resource Pack is now available, ideal for KS1 and 2.

The County Records Office

County Hall (228833 or 228777)

For anyone interested in local history, this is a must!
