 Hello from Bedford!
Occasional newsletter - mainly for expats

Greetings from Bedford!
My apologies
I feel I owe an apology for the long delay in updating local news. It is not that I have lost interest in the project, or with Bedford. The reasons are purely personal. First, Jill is in her last week at Bedford Modern school, leaving in circumstances that are nothing short of utterly disgraceful. She is upset over this, and rightly so, and this has understandably left us both feeling rather sad that so many years of dedicated suppport for pupils with special needs can be shrugged off with a virtual dismissal. This could never happen in the state sector, but independent schools are a law unto themselves. And secondly, I have just been diagnosed as suffering from Parkinson's, something I am still trying to come to terms with. In circumstances such as these it is somewhat difficult to be full of the joys of spring! However, we are blessed with a lovely family, and a caring Christian church, so I have no doubt that we'll be bouncing back pretty soon!
This is not in any way to evoke sympathy, but rather to explain why I have not been updating news in Bedford. Shortly the town will be holding its River Festival, and I hope to be around, armed with camera and note-book!
Sincerely
Robert Leggat
